Frequently asked questions

Does Iris provide channels or content?+
No. Iris is a media player software: you connect your own sources — network streams, local files, cloud accounts, Jellyfin servers and podcasts. Iris organizes and plays, but provides no content. We do not provide, sell, host or index any audio or video content, and we have no relationship with list or channel providers. No content ships with the app: everything in your library was put there by you.
How does the 14-day free trial work?+
You create the account, connect your sources and use Iris Premium for 14 days, no credit card required. At the end you pick a plan or do nothing — there is no automatic charge and no surprise.
Which devices can I use?+
Windows (Microsoft Store), Android (Google Play), any browser through the web app and, soon, Samsung TVs. One subscription covers every platform, within your plan’s device limit, and your account syncs favorites, progress and settings across them.
What is the difference between Standard and Premium?+
Both plans include the Iris license, cross-device sync and cloud processing. The difference is two things: the sources and the number of devices. Standard plays network streams, local files and podcasts, on up to 3 devices. Premium adds OneDrive, Dropbox, Jellyfin servers and the Master Playlist — which merges every source into one list — and allows up to 6 devices. During the 14-day trial you use the full Premium.
Can I cancel anytime?+
Yes. Cancellation happens right on your account page, no hassle, and you keep access until the end of the paid period.
Is my data safe?+
Your sources and credentials are encrypted and used only to play your media. We do not sell data and you can delete your account and all data at any time.
When can I cancel my plan and request a refund?+
Iris Media Player offers a free trial period before any charge. Since you can fully evaluate the app at no cost during the trial, there are no refunds after the paid subscription begins. You can cancel anytime from your account area; upon cancellation, access remains active until the end of the already-paid period and no further charges are made. Recurring charges only begin after the free trial period ends.
What happens to my progress across devices?+
Your playback position and your favorites live in your account, not on the device. Pause a movie on your phone and it shows up ready to continue on the TV, at the same point — even months later.
